Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Physical Science, or related field. Two years of enforcement and/or inspection experience in an environmental or solid waste management program are required.

This role is responsible for providing management and enforcement of violations of Chapter 24 of the Code and with mandatory regulations pursuant to the Consent Decree between the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the State of Florida through the Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and Miami-Dade County, including but not limited to enforcing regulations involving wastewater collection and transmission systems including certification/allocation; Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) regulations; requiring septic to sewer conversions; sewage overflows, in order to prevent immediate public health threats and impacts. This role also enforces regulations for facility permitting; violations of State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations including but not limited to: Sewer Use/Pretreatment regulations; Air Facilities and Asbestos regulations pursuant to State of Florida/Miami-Dade County Delegation Agreements; violations involving petroleum and non-petroleum contamination which pose threats to our county's drinking water, and violations of Environmental Quality Control Board(EQCB) Orders; violations involving the destruction of Natural Forest Communities, regulated tree resources, dredging and filling of jurisdictional wetlands, and the unauthorized cutting and alteration of mangrove trees the latter of which is pursuant to a State Delegation Agreement.
