Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Inspector to join our team in Washington. This technician position will primarily focus on fieldwork, including conducting environmental compliance site inspections, sampling, and working with facility personnel to develop and implement corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in environmental compliance, site inspections, and fieldwork, with a solid understanding of environmental regulations in Washington state. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in a dynamic, field-focused role while also contributing to office-based tasks, compliance planning, and environmental training efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections and sampling at client sites throughout Washington (up to 50-75% travel required).
  • Collaborate with managers to complete regulatory compliance audits and assessments.
  • Gather data and prepare updates for environmental plans, including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans.
  • Provide environmental training focused on stormwater management and spill prevention.
  • Assist in the development and completion of regulatory reports, including DMRs, NPDES, RCRA, EPCRA/Tier II, and air quality reports.
  • Support the development of environmental compliance documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidance, and work instructions.
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and environmental plans.
  • Support clients'' sustainability goals and climate resiliency planning initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings, research technical information, and assist in environmental compliance program development.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards in compliance programs.
  • Obtain and maintain specialized certifications (e.g., HAZWOPER, RCRA).

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate's degree (A.A.) with relevant experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, inspections, and/or audits, with a focus on environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with federal and Washington state environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Experience conducting environmental compliance inspections, sampling, and audits in the field.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead client meetings and interact with field and industrial personnel.
  • Experience with environmental compliance program development (SOPs, training, guidance materials).
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and client-required random drug screenings.
  • Familiarity with HAZWOPER, OSHA, and safety protocols is preferred.
  • Environmental-related certifications a plus.

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
