Description
The Burlington County Health Department is seeking (1) one motivated Environmental Compliance Investigator to join our environmental health team. This position is responsible for conducting inspections, investigations, and compliance activities to help protect public health and the environment while ensuring adherence to state and local environmental regulations. This position also include HAZMAT response duties.
Responsibilities
Conduct inspections and investigations of facilities and environmental complaints.
Monitor compliance with environmental permits, regulations, and enforcement requirements.
Collect environmental samples and legally significant evidence using specialized equipment.
Prepare reports, inspection findings, and enforcement documentation.
Respond to environmental emergencies and public complaints, including after-hours responses when necessary.
Work collaboratively with engineers, facility representatives, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and the public.
Participate in enforcement actions, hearings, and court proceedings as needed.
HAZMAT Response
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience in environmental compliance, inspections, investigations, testing, surveys, or enforcement activities, including one (1) year collecting data, samples, or legally significant evidence using testing or measuring equipment.
OR an Associate's Degree in natural, chemical, biological, or environmental sciences, or engineering technology.
Valid New Jersey driver's license
Hours are M-F, 8am-4:30pm with on-call responsibilities with HAZMAT response.

Annual Salary $50,562.00 plus on call and overtime opportunities
