    • Provide technical guidance and direction to environmental personnel, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
    • Support environmental compliance throughout pre-construction, construction, and ongoing operations.
    • Review environmental permits, plans, mitigation measures, and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical field requirements.
    • Oversee field inspections, compliance documentation, regulatory reporting, corrective actions, and permit obligations.
    • Support compliance programs involving stormwater and water quality, wildlife and biological resources, spill prevention, air quality, hazardous materials, and waste.
    • Coordinate with regulatory and resource agencies and support agency inspections, meetings, and compliance responses.
    • Track environmental commitments, permit conditions, reporting deadlines, corrective actions, and other compliance obligations.
    • Review environmental reports, field documentation, regulatory submissions, and technical work products.
    • Coordinate environmental consultants and technical service providers.
    • Develop practical environmental procedures, training materials, checklists, and field tools.
    • Identify potential environmental compliance risks and work with internal stakeholders to develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
    • Support environmental permitting and due diligence activities associated with new and existing projects.
    • Maintain organized and accurate environmental compliance records.
    • Travel to project and operating sites throughout California as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
    • 5+ years of progressive environmental compliance experience within energy, construction, infrastructure, industrial operations, or a comparable environment.
    • Experience leading environmental programs, projects, field teams, or environmental professionals.
    • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
    • Experience interpreting environmental permits and implementing requirements in active field environments.
    • Experience with construction and/or operational environmental compliance.
    • Knowledge of stormwater/SWPPP, spill prevention, hazardous materials and waste, air quality, water quality, and environmental permitting.
    • Experience with wildlife, biological resources, mitigation monitoring, and resource agency permitting is highly desirable.
    • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and environmental consultants.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple sites, deadlines, and priorities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently while providing leadership and direction to others.
    • Ability to travel regularly throughout California, including occasional overnight travel.
