Division: Nucor Building Systems South Carolina

Location: Lacrosse, VA, United States

Basic Job Functions:

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • A commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity and Profitability through leadership throughout the division.
  • Establish safety policies, monitor OSHA compliance, ensure division conformance with NBG and corporate regulations.
  • Work in conjunction with division Environmental Coordinator to maintain compliance, track information, and all permit requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with division Occupational Health Coordinator to align all health objectives and initiatives.
  • Liaison with on-site health representatives
  • Communication with the Manager Team, division Leadership and Operational Teammates to ensure alignment.
  • Travel with short notice. Working the required hours includes flexibility for second and third shifts, and to be on call in emergency situations 24/7.
  • Oversee management of change, incident investigations, metric records and reporting to OSHA, the corporate office and the division's Safety Management System.
  • Perform other duties as required by Supervisor or Management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior leadership or involvement with Safety Team/Committee
  • Proficiency with common computer software including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior safety and/or environmental leadership experience in a steel fabricating environment
  • Knowledge and experience in workers' compensation
  • OSHA compliance experience
  • Exceptional organization and recordkeeping
