Summary:
The Senior Environmental Engineer will lead investigations and remediation projects at contaminated sites regulated under CERCLA in California/Nevada/Arizona/Oregon/Utah, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with clients and stakeholders. The role includes developing and implementing remedial investigation, feasibility study, removal action, and remedial action work plans; overseeing field programs; and interpreting complex environmental data to support risk management and remedy selection.
Key responsibilities include coordinating multiâdisciplinary teams; preparing and reviewing CERCLAâcompliant technical documents (RI/FS reports, decision documents, design packages, and construction completion reports); interfacing with federal and state regulatory agencies; and mentoring junior staff. The position requires deep knowledge of CERCLA, EPA requirements, and relevant California regulations and guidance (e.g., DTSC and Regional Water Boards), strong project management skills (scope, schedule, budget), and excellent written and verbal communication.
The salary range for this position is $124,117-$155,766/year.
This position may qualify as a telecommute position. The ideal candidate will reside in the Southwest region of the United States.
