Job Summary
Under minimal supervision and using independent discretion, this position is responsible for coordinating and administering a construction project environmental program, including all aspects of the permitting and compliance processes, provides engineering solutions to meet environmental needs, and leadership on environmental matters in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Assist in obtaining and monitoring all environmental permits necessary for the permitting and construction of the project and other related operations to ensure compliance.
Coordinate with engineering and construction personnel at multiple facilities including developing training programsto ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain an environmental compliance database which coordinates compliance reports to agencies and/or internal parties, coordinates monitoring to meet permit conditions, and brings all worksite facilities into compliance with environmental laws.
Maintain an Environmental Management System which coordinates legal requirements and compliance tasks, establishes environmental objectives and targets, determines roles and responsibilities for environmental activities, and maintains a document and record system.
Identify and monitor environmentally significant issues and advise management on the appropriate action to inlcuiding notification of third party inspectors and support personnel for environmental issues related to hazardous waste, stormwater, water and water treatment, biological (wildlife and plant life), and archelogical and cultural issues.
Works closely with the project's construction managers and and Environmental, Health and Safey (EHS) mangaer to develop and implement acomprehensive and practical environmental strategy.
Solves technical problems and develop solutions to meet environmental requirements.
Builds and maintains excellent working relationships to enhance Traylor's reputation through highly professional interaction with the general public and public officials, including those with perspectives that are contrary to Traylor's objectives.
