Job Title: Environmental Field Lead - Wetland Delineation

Job Description

Our team is looking for a driven Environmental Field Lead to lead impactful work across the Gulf region.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects and key client relationships in various sectors including natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, solar facilities, and other energy-related projects.
  • Lead teams that collect and report on tasks such as wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat characterizations, and land use mapping.
  • Coordinate agency communications, oversee technical assessments, and guide project teams through successful execution.
  • Assist with preparing work plans, assembling project teams, and ensuring compliance with project scope and timely completion.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance and safety plans for assigned projects.
  • Provide mentorship to early career staff with potential opportunities for direct supervision.

Essential Skills

  • Thorough understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and sound knowledge of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of environmental compliance requirements related to public and private infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of agencies including Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, US Army Corps of Engineers, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and more.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality assurance and quality control practices.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and ability to motivate self and others.
  • Collaborative problem-solving skills with stakeholders, clients, and teammates.
  • Leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performance.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for project and fieldwork (up to 75%).
  • A good driving record and valid state driver"s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, rangeland science, biological resources, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience leading delineations, preferably in the Gulf Region.
  • Local, state, and Federal compliance and environmental permitting experience is a plus.
  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or other applicable professional environmental certification is a plus.

Work Environment

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods. Fieldwork includes working on uneven terrain and difficult environments, with potential exposure to inclement weather such as high heat, cold, and rain. The role involves 75% or more travel, potentially requiring extended stays in the field, possibly away from home on weekends, and travel to locations such as Oklahoma City, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62500.00 - $90600.00/yr.
