Environmental Field Technician

Position Overview

This Environmental Field Technician role focuses on performing field tasks at project sites, including operation and maintenance of remediation systems and construction oversight. The position supports investigation and environmental remediation activities, as well as construction oversight and inspections at petroleum-related sites. Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain remediation systems.
• Perform environmental sampling from monitoring and recovery wells.
• Conduct site inspections and construction oversight.
• Collect and document system performance data.
• Troubleshoot and maintain pumps, fluid systems, and related equipment.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Travel between project sites as needed.
• Support project execution while maintaining quality, safety, and budget goals.

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude (pumps, fluid systems, equipment maintenance).
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift/carry equipment and climb ladders.
• Valid driver"s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Environmental, oil & gas, construction, or industrial field experience.
• Experience with remediation systems and groundwater sampling.
• Construction oversight or inspection experience.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and 8-Hour Refresher certification (or willingness to obtain).

Work Environment

This is a field-based role with most working time spent outdoors at project sites across Midland, Pecos, and surrounding areas. Travel between locations, often working independently with a high level of autonomy while performing hands-on maintenance, sampling, and inspections in varying conditions, including heat and other weather exposure. Field work occurs year-round in a safety-focused environment that emphasizes compliance with environmental and health and safety regulations. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday with consistent hours and opportunities for overtime, offering strong earning potential. The position provides structured training, mentorship, and a strong safety culture, along with the possibility of a take-home company vehicle to support efficient travel between sites.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
