Summary - Field Technician: If you are looking for a hands-on, outdoor role in a stable industry sector with an industry-leading firm, while having a work-life balance, this opportunity may be a great fit for you. As an Environmental Field Technician, you will be gaining valuable field experience while collecting specialized data from municipal water/wastewater systems which is used to help improve these systems. This is an entry-level opportunity where training and development will be provided.

Responsibility Summary - Field Technician:

  • Installation of flow monitoring systems within sewer lines.
  • Installation of rainfall monitoring equipment.
  • Input data into software systems.
  • Inspect sewer manholes manually or with telemonitoring equipment.
  • Operate and maintain instruments and equipment.
  • Accurately document inspections in a timely manner with detailed field notes.
  • Adhere to all the safety requirements of the position while assisting team members to do the same.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualification Summary - Field Technician:

  • High school diploma (AS or BS degrees in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or a related degree program preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with the ability to operate a company vehicle
  • Ability to detect, resolve and report equipment issues (strong electrical and mechanical aptitude preferred)
  • Computer literacy with the ability to effectively utilize commonly used computer software programs
  • Ability to perform all of the physical requirements of position
  • Preferred experience/knowledge with field data collection
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

Physical Demands- Field Technician:

  • Standing and walking for long hours
  • Use hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
  • See details of objects from a distance
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds when necessary
  • Work outside year-round in all conditions present
  • Climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain
  • Squat and crawl
