The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) at Tewksbury Hospital is looking for a Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join its team. The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of facility-wide safety, life safety, Environment of Care, and hazardous materials programs. They ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, fire, building, and environmental requirements; coordinate inspections, risk assessments, corrective actions, contractor activities, and construction-related safety measures.
This role provides leadership, technical guidance, training, and regulatory support to hospital departments and committees while maintaining required documentation and promoting a safe, compliant environment for patients, employees, visitors, and campus occupants. We are hoping to find someone with extensive understanding of facilities management, hazardous materials management, and safety best practices. Equally important is someone who can collaborate effectively with departments within the hospitals as well as external partners, manage projects effectively, and bring attention to detail, professionalism, and a can-do attitude to this role.
This position is 37.5 per week, working Mon-Fri, 7:30-3:30.
