Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent role that will require the successful candidate to oversee all aspects of environmental health, safety, and compliance within the organization. The EHS Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing our EHS program, ensuring that all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the EHS Management System in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
3. Develop and implement safety training programs for all employees, including training on handling hazardous substances such as chromium, cyanide, and acid.
4. Oversee all aspects of hazardous waste management, including waste minimization, recycling, and disposal.
5. Implement and maintain the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan.
6. Manage the company's wastewater treatment program, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
7. Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring to assess employee exposure to potential health hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
8. Manage the document control process for all EHS-related documents, ensuring that all records are accurately maintained and readily accessible.
9. Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization.
10. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in environmental health and safety regulations and best practices, and ensure that the company's EHS program is aligned with these.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role in the engineering industry, with a strong focus on safety, SPCC, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste management, and handling of hazardous substances.
3. In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
4. Certified in industrial hygiene monitoring or a related certification.
5. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to prioritize safety.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex EHS concepts to a diverse audience.
7. Proficient in document control and record management.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential safety risks and develop effective solutions.
9. Proficient in using EHS management software and other relevant computer applications.
10. A strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety and sustainability within the organization.
