We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs to promote a safe working environment while minimizing environmental impact.
Responsibilities
Conducts facility and site walk down and inspection activities to monitor compliance with Safety Practices such as PPE, etc.
Directs activities of safety committee and may provide safety training
Acts as a liaison to the subcontractor work force training and work performance
Fulfills the role of admin support for EHS Supervisor and EHS Manager
To coordinate the implementation of the company EHS policies, Safety Management System and project/location specific Safety Management Plans as they apply to the location.
Ensure the location complies with the relevant Occupational and Safety Legislation and the respective client's safety requirements.
Conduct and report the results of safety observations and audits, evaluate corrective action plans, verify implementation of corrective action plans, and analyze EHS data for trends.
Accept assignments within the safety departments and perform specific duties as may be required.
Maintain knowledge of applicable rules and regulations including government regulations, standards and policies.
Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of the safety program assigned.
Ensure the safety of any subordinates and ensure their compliance with established safety policies, procedures and practices.

Minimum of five (5) years Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related experience is preferred.
Certification on either the OSHA 30-hour Construction or OSHA 30-hour for General Industry is required.
Other formal safety certification such as the Occupational Safety and Health
Technologist (OSHT) will also be considered.
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate the requirements of the HSE Program
Detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to continuously improve site EHS processes
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access & Power Point.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
