The EHS Systems Manager must have demonstrated experience of being accountable for driving a vision of zero EHS incidents by ensuring alignment with and supporting the company's EHS Stance, mission and guiding principles. Incumbent works as a member of leadership team with global responsibility for: facilitating the development of a strong EHS culture and an effective, efficient and compliant EHS process and establishing EHS working practices on the manufacturing, warehouse or distribution hub sites. This includes developing, maintaining and administering site policies and adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. The EHS Manager will coordinate and/or perform the site loss prevention and environmental compliance tasks in accordance with company, local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Administer and maintain permit requirements as required for air, water, and waste program compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and manage EHS programs and systems for global operationsCoach and mentor leadership in EHS techniques and EHS leadership skillsIdentify EHS critical process and system needs and implement appropriate action plansEstablish agreement and alignment with regional operating goals and objectivesPromote a team environment, initiate/lead personnel and EHS activitiesAssess the sites for adherence to EHS guidelines/regulations and identify/resolve regulatory risksProvide planning related to EHS objectives and compliance, lead sites in planning for EHS successEstablish and accomplish aggressive personal and global EHS goalsUnderstand, implement, report and monitor EHS measures and metricsEstablish and maintain regulatory compliance metrics. Report regulatory metrics to appropriate agenciesAbility to research and write effective EHS procedures and policiesMaintain constructive relationships with internal and external customersWillingness to travel up to 25% of the timePerforms other related duties as required or assignedSkills Knowledge and ExpertiseSkills and Abilities:Experience with implementing and maintaining effective EHS systems and programsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to lead and influence othersAbility to research, draft, train, and maintain effective EHS procedures and policiesDemonstrated results leading others in the accomplishment of EHS objectivesAbility to work independentlyEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in related field such as Occupational Safety, Industrial Management, Engineering, Business or a related field (required)Five or more years of related experience (required). Master's degree in a relevant field could substitute for years of experienceProfessional Certifications highly desired (CSP, CIH, CHMM, OHST)Computer Skills:Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, EHS Compliance Management System Software, SDS Management Software and Learning Management SystemsPhysical Activities:Continually required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Regularly required to sit or stand and to walk.
