You will partner closely with business leadership, provide training and communication to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to implement best-in-class methods for achieving environmental and safety performance. This position plays a key role in supporting EHS programs for an innovative low-orbit satellite system operation.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop, communicate, train, drive, manage, audit, improve, and measure EHS performance across the organization.
  • Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational diseases and industrial health hazards.
  • Promote EHS awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communication, training, and participation initiatives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for safety and environmental issues, providing guidance and support to stakeholders.
  • Support regulated waste management activities, including consolidation, inspections, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory checks, and life safety audits.
  • Execute and support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements related to environmental, health, and safety.
  • Support and conduct EHS audits, develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures promptly and effectively.
  • Perform risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for new processes, equipment, and tasks to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly EHS metrics and report them to onsite management teams and corporate reporting systems.
  • Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate EHS program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures, including ergonomic improvements, to reduce injury and exposure risks.
  • Establish and manage the safety committee, ensuring effective participation and follow-through on identified actions.
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives to reduce site safety and environmental risks and enhance overall EHS performance.
  • Support site stand-up meetings, safety committee activities, and floor inspections to reinforce EHS culture and standards.
  • Conduct and support training and communication efforts to ensure employees understand EHS requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to further integrate EHS considerations into daily operations and decision-making.
  • Handle sensitive EHS-related information while maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel issues.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in EHS support, preferably in warehousing or similar operational environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
  • Experience in environmental health and safety within a manufacturing plant or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of environmental and waste disposal regulations and practices.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses for processes and equipment.
  • Ability to conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational disease and industrial health hazards.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity for documentation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel issues.
  • Strong communication skills to deliver effective EHS training and promote EHS awareness at all levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support EHS compliance and performance improvement.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 49 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or leading EHS audits and developing corrective action plans.
  • Ability to recommend and implement ergonomic improvements and other risk mitigation measures.
  • Experience establishing, managing, or actively participating in safety committees.
  • Comfort working in innovative, technology-focused environments such as those supporting low-orbit satellite systems.
  • Flexibility to work any shift based on operational needs, including days, nights, and weekends.
