The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies such as but limited to: OSHA, EPA, and other related agencies.General DescriptionThe Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for outlining and implementing training programs to educate and inform Parkson's workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention programs and procedures. Tracks and documents incidents to understand root causes and recommend changes to prevent future incidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes, recommends corrective actions and/or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations. Documents injury/illness/near misses/first aid incidents and distributes reports to Management. Promotes a safe working environment through training, performing accident investigations, and improving safety conditions based on near‑miss reports. Hands‑on approach to safety in the facility.Work ScheduleThe schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please note that the schedule may be adjusted based on operational and shop requirements.Essential FunctionsComposes, administers, and implements OSHA workplace safety, environmental protection, and safety programs. Develops, implements, and manages compliance programs to keep current with regulatory standards.Evaluates and improves procedures to facilitate and promote safe work practices.Collaborates with cross‑functional departments to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures for adherence to OSHA requirements.Leads reviews of safety incidents with stakeholders, develops ways to prevent recurrences.Reviews and interprets relevant statutory, regulatory requirements and develops policies and procedures for compliance (OSHA, EPA).Performs incident investigations and formally reports the findings to Management.Identifies opportunities to minimize/eliminate workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.Coordinates with outside parties to test and monitor potential environmental issues such as hexavalent chromium, grade D breathing air, silica dust, and sound levels.Coordinates annual testing for employees regarding hearing, vision, respirator fit, etc.Coordinates employee training program on applicable safety standards.Assists with acquiring permits associated with Environmental Health and Safety services from the agency having jurisdiction.Provides support services and makes recommendations for repair or replacement of personal protective equipment and ergonomic equipment needs.Maintains positive working relationships with internal employees, external vendors, stakeholders, and external agencies.
