Today we have two manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts and North Carolina.Job Summary The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator, under the direction of the Sr. EHS Manager is responsible for the coordination of occupational safety, environmental, and workers compensation compliance, as well as training programs and occupational health issues. This position serves as a liaison between employee safety activity and management teams and reports directly to the Sr. EHS Manager in efforts to support Hans Kissle's “See Something, Say Something, Do Something” culture.Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal standardsKeep Management informed of all current and new environmental hygiene, and safety laws and regulationsServe as site subject matter expert on all safety and environmental issuesWork closely with employees and management on all levels to ensure safety policy is being followed and enforcedEnsure personnel are wearing the appropriate PPE in accordance with company standardsServe as Safety Committee Chief and lead monthly safety committee meetingsConduct monthly Safety Reviews with site leadership to review safety data/trendsInvestigate accidents related to personal injury or property damage and develop corrective actionsConduct safety training in accordance with company training matrixDetect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, unsafe guarding and unusual conditions to the site leadershipConduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all departmentsPrepare environmental reports for the appropriate regulatory agencies, to include management of the wastewater systemMonitor all waste activities such as generation, storage, inventory, transportation, and disposalUpdate and maintain site 300 Log and Form 301 to ensure compliance with OSHA standardsEffectively communicate with vendors and third-party contractors for safety related issuesConduct routine inspections to include but not limited to fire extinguisher, emergency eye wash and shower stationsMaintain emergency response plansConduct drills and post-incident reviewsEducation and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred or combination of Associate's Degree and related experience2-5 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing preferredKnowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations and requirementsKnowledge of state specific Workers Compensation Law/RegulationsPreferred Bi-Lingual SpeakingProfessional certificationsPrior leadership experienceWastewater experienceSuccess Traits Proactive mindsetStrong collaboration skillsAbility to identify potential risksQualifications Strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work with limited supervisionAbility to train and coach othersAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule, occasional off shift - AM/PMPhysical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in varying temperaturesMust be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as neededHans Kissle takes pride in its people and product.
