We are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and oversee all EHS programs across our manufacturing and distribution operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace, reducing operational and environmental risks, and ensuring adherence to applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and other regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented leader with strong knowledge of EHS regulations and a proven ability to build a culture of safety while balancing day-to-day compliance with long-term risk reduction and continuous improvement.

This position is based on-site in our Santa Barbara, CA office.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety programs for manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Develop and implement programs that reduce workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, and environmental risks.
  • Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assessments and verify all monthly compliance requirements are being completed.
  • Serve as the facility subject matter expert for OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including wastewater, stormwater, ammonia, asbestos, hazardous materials, and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Partner with Facilities, Legal and Security teams to identify safety improvement opportunities and deploy best practices.
  • Track EHS metrics, scorecards, dashboards, and compliance reporting.
  • Support workers' compensation reviews and return-to-work programs.
  • Coordinate permit applications and regulatory interactions with OSHA, EPA, and other agencies.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and leadership teams.
  • Lead emergency response planning and crisis management initiatives.
  • Participate on facility crisis management teams during major incidents.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and special assignments.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or industrial operations.
  • Strong background in OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective action planning.
  • Experience managing environmental programs such as wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, and industrial compliance.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training programs across all organizational levels.
  • Experience working with workers' compensation, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing EHS metrics, dashboards, and scorecards.
  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements to operational leaders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Pay TransparencyThis job posting may cover multiple career levels. To ensure greater transparency, we provide base salary ranges for all roles, regardless of location. Our standard pay ranges are based on the role’s function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.

Compensation Range

The Compensation Range for this role is $140,000 - $170,000 DOE.
