Job Description

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Site Lead

Manufacturing | Wenatchee, WA | $115,000 - $130,000 + Target Bonus

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a global manufacturer to bring on an experienced EHS leader to elevate safety performance and environmental stewardship at the Wenatchee-area plant.

A Day in the Life

You start your morning on the production floor—listening, observing, and asking the right questions. You coach supervisors on safety leadership, spot a potential ergonomic risk and quickly organize a targeted assessment, and review yesterday’s near-miss with the team to drive a learning moment. By midday, you’re refining site-wide EHS programs, aligning with plant leadership on safety strategies that support operational goals, and preparing the team for an upcoming regulatory inspection. Afternoon brings a root-cause session for a recent incident, updates to your corrective action tracker, and a short training you deliver for new leads. You close the day validating KPI trends, scheduling an emergency drill, and partnering with HR on a return-to-work plan.

Key Impact Areas

  • Design, implement, and sustain comprehensive EHS programs that meet federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to set and execute site safety strategies that enable operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture through engagement, accountability, recognition, and employee ownership.
  • Perform risk assessments and apply engineering/administrative controls to reduce hazards and prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track and analyze safety metrics and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Own OSHA and environmental compliance, including required reporting and documentation.
  • Create, deliver, and evaluate safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Plan and execute audits, inspections, and compliance assessments to verify system effectiveness.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response activities, including drills and training.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on safety leadership, accountability, and best practices.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and partner with HR and third-party administrators on return-to-work.
  • Serve as the site’s primary EHS point of contact during regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk and enhance operational performance.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership in a manufacturing setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated strength in risk assessments and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track record of developing and delivering effective training.
  • Experience conducting EHS audits and compliance assessments.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and positively influence safety culture change.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; effective at all organizational levels.

  • 401(k) with strong company matching and additional employer contributions
  • Training and professional development opportunities
