Role Overview:
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs across two manufacturing and warehouse facilities. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace.
This is a highly hands-on position requiring experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, with a strong focus on facility safety, environmental compliance, hazard prevention, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable spending significant time throughout the facilities identifying risks and driving continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of EHSexperience within a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, including OSHA 300 Logs, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting.
- Understanding of EPA, RCRA, and applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Experience conducting facility safety inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance audits.
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, PPE, Fall Protection, and Confined Space programs.
- Experience managing hazardous waste, chemical storage, spill prevention, and environmental compliance activities.
- Experience coordinating contractor safety programs and monitoring work performed by outside vendors.
- Ability to lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Experience delivering safety training and promoting employee engagement in workplace safety initiatives.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30, CSP, CHMM, or other EHS certifications preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, RCRA, and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct Facility Inspections: Perform routine inspections of manufacturing, warehouse, and building operations to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support Environmental Programs: Oversee hazardous waste management, chemical storage, spill prevention, recycling initiatives, and environmental reporting.
- Manage Contractor Safety: Coordinate contractor activities, verify compliance with site safety requirements, and oversee safe work practices during maintenance and construction projects.
- Lead Incident Investigations: Investigate accidents, injuries, property damage, and near misses while implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate Safety Training: Deliver new hire orientation, annual refresher training, emergency response training, and other EHS programs.
- Support Emergency Preparedness: Maintain emergency action plans, coordinate evacuation drills, inspect emergency equipment, and support business continuity initiatives.
- Monitor Building Safety: Evaluate facility conditions, fire protection systems, emergency exits, safety signage, and general workplace safety throughout the buildings.
- Manage Compliance Documentation: Maintain OSHA logs, inspection records, permits, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), environmental documentation, and audit records.
- Partner with Operations: Work closely with maintenance, facilities, production, and leadership teams to improve workplace safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements that reduce risk, strengthen environmental performance, and enhance overall workplace safety.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
