American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.

As an EHS Intern, you will work closely with the Environmental Health & Safety team to support compliance with safety regulations, assist in hazard assessments, promote environmental stewardship, and help develop programs that safeguard employee health and environmental protection. This internship provides hands-on experience in EHS practices within a manufacturing and recycling environment, ideal for students interested in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental science and engineering.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA standards and environmental regulations is preferred.
  • Strong interest in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainable manufacturing.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or coursework related to EHS or industrial safety.
  • Experience with hazard assessments, safety audits, or environmental monitoring is a plus.
  • Familiarity with chemical manufacturing or recycling environments.
