By leveraging best practices, data‑driven analysis, and behavior‑based safety principles, the EHS Lead will inspire engagement at every level of the organization and help build a world‑class safety culture.As a key member of the site leadership (steering) team, the EHS Lead acts as a trusted advisor, subject matter expert, and coach‑partnering across the business to solve complex safety challenges, drive innovation in hazard identification, and elevate overall site capability.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership & Risk ManagementDrive a proactive safety culture by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all operations, including manufacturing processes, equipment, and materialsLead formal risk assessments and continuously update them to reflect operational changes and evolving standardsInvestigate all incidents—including near misses and workers' compensation cases—ensuring thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective actionsProgram Development & ComplianceLead the development and enhancement of Critical Safety Foundations and SIF programsEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all federal, state, and local regulationsOversee environmental reporting and maintain accurate documentation and EHS recordsManage Safety Data Sheet (SDS) systems and ensure proper accessibility and complianceTraining, Engagement & Culture BuildingDeliver impactful training on EHS awareness, emergency response, evacuation, and safe work practicesEnsure 100% completion of training programs and verified competency across the workforceCoach and mentor employees and leaders, reinforcing accountability and empowering individuals to stop unsafe workChampion the Safety Committee and support cross‑functional engagementOperational Excellence & Continuous ImprovementPartner with site leadership to develop and execute EHS action plans aligned to strategic goalsParticipate in Lean initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma to integrate safety into operational excellenceDrive ergonomics and wellness programs to reduce injuries and enhance employee well‑beingSupport product innovation by evaluating EHS risks in collaboration with Product Stewardship teamsCommunication & InfluenceMaintain a visible leadership presence on the floor to reinforce safe behaviorsCommunicate EHS metrics, trends, and insights using dashboards and reporting toolsInfluence and engage stakeholders across all levels to drive accountability and continuous improvementKey Success MetricsRecordable Incident Rate (RIR)Audit performance for SIF programs and Safety FoundationsReduction of internal audit findingsTimeliness and accuracy of environmental reportingQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field5+ years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (hands‑on floor presence required)PreferredASP or CSP certificationOSHA 500 series trainingExperience & ExpertiseProven success implementing and managing EHS programs in manufacturing environmentsStrong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulationsExperience driving compliance programs and influencing behavioral changeWork EnvironmentThis is a full‑time, onsite role based at a manufacturing facility, working Monday‑Friday.
