Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) professional provides oversight and support for Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Life Safety (LS), and Emergency Management (EM) programs within assigned healthcare facilities. This role partners with hospital leaders, facilities, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to promote a safe environment and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
The ideal candidate brings experience working within a hospital or acute-care environment and a strong foundation in healthcare safety, regulatory compliance, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), facilities, emergency management, or a related discipline. Candidates are not expected to have direct experience in every area listed below.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 2 years of related professional experience within a hospital or acute-care healthcare environment.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Environment of Care
Healthcare safety
Life safety
Emergency management or preparedness
Regulatory compliance
Facilities or healthcare operations
Environmental health and safety
Ability to interpret policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and apply them within a healthcare environment.
Ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge or experience with The Joint Commission Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Life Safety, and/or Emergency Management standards.
Familiarity with one or more of the following:
NFPA standards
OSHA requirements
CMS requirements
Texas DSHS requirements
Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM)
Healthcare construction safety
Infection prevention considerations related to construction
Hazardous materials management
Emergency preparedness
Experience participating in regulatory surveys, accreditation readiness, inspections, or corrective action plans.
Experience facilitating committees, managing projects, or leading process improvement initiatives within a healthcare setting.
