Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Job Summary

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist implements and manages EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduces workplace risks, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. This position serves as a technical resource for safety and environmental matters and works closely with operations to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Conduct facility inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Lead accident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses.
• Develop and deliver employee safety training programs.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Manage assigned EHS programs such as LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, confined space, and hazardous waste.
• Prepare inspection reports and compliance documentation.
• Analyze EHS performance data and identify trends.
• Support regulatory inspections and audits.
• Serve as EHS software system administrator for assigned modules.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor / Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
