JOB SUMMARY:
The responsibility of the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist/Trainer is to provide training to new employees, staff, and supervisors in all areas of safety and health. This role is responsible to manage all training records and confirm the staff is trained by OSHA regulations. Management of the emergency clinic and assist with first aid response. The EHS Specialist/trainer also facilitates the GEMBA audits & Safety Committee meetings for both plants. This role must be bilingual in Spanish and be able to translate written and spoken words.

Work Environment
An office space: working on a computer, telephone, desk, and chair as needed to complete administrative tasks. Enter and work within temperature-controlled environments of -10 to 85 degrees. Some assignments may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, biohazards, and various forms of radiation. Some assignments could be extremely dangerous in the event of dizziness, loss of consciousness, or loss of balance. Working conditions are normal for a plant manufacturing food. Food safety practices are followed and upheld to the full extent. Work will involve lifting of raw materials, finished cases of bread, and ingredients. All employees will be required to wear a slip resistant safety steel toe shoe.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position normal hour are 6:00am to 2:30pm Mon-Fri. Days and hours are subject to change depending on safety needs/urgency. Furlani Foods operates 7 days a week. A normal workweek is 5 days Monday - Friday, with overtime on weekends as needed. Duration of shifts can range from eight to ten-hour days.
