The EHS Specialist plays a hands-on role in the day-to-day execution of the company's Environmental, Health & Safety programs through audits, inspections, incident investigations, ergonomic assessments, and safety training. This role helps drive a proactive safety culture across the organization. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees on safety matters and works cross-functionally to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support implementation of the company's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs.
Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and behavioral observations.
Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Coordinate ergonomic assessments and recommend risk reduction improvements.
Assist with the development and delivery of safety alerts and safety communications.
Support emergency preparedness activities including drills and response planning.
Assist in the monitoring of safety KPIs including recordable injuries, DART, near misses, safety observations, training completion, and corrective action closure.
Lead the Safety New Hire Onboarding orientation.
Lead the company’s Safety Committees.
Audit Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance.
Inspect and maintain records of emergency response equipment.
Update and maintain SDS list, maintain SDS book and drive.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Training in Occupational Safety and Environmental Compliance related fields preferred - Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
Minimum 1 year of experience in a Safety related role
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Outstanding service orientation; sense of urgency; high-level of personal integrity
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact w/ all levels of personnel
Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in an unsupervised manner.
Ability to work independently, but a strong effective team player mentality is a must.
Must be able to adapt quickly to changing scenarios.
Good judgment and decision-making skills; Lead by example.
