Environmental Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Laboratory Analyst I to support environmental sample testing and laboratory operations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent graduates with a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related field who are interested in developing laboratory experience within a regulated environmental testing environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and prepare environmental samples for analysis.
• Weigh, spike, aliquot, and prepare samples using established laboratory procedures.
• Utilize analytical balances, pipettes, and other standard laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and environmental compliance documentation.
• Assist with shipping and receiving of customer samples and sample kits.
• Verify sample receipt compliance and ensure proper chain of custody documentation.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Support environmental testing activities in accordance with regulatory standards.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor"s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field.
• Basic laboratory experience through coursework, internships, research projects, or employment.
• Experience using analytical balances, pipettes, measuring volumes, and following laboratory procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous environmental, chemistry, biology, or quality laboratory experience.
• Understanding of environmental testing and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling environmental samples and laboratory documentation.

Work Environment

The position will be working upstairs in the lab doing sample preparation for soil and water chemical analysis. Working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime being sporadically required but uncommon.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
