Compensation

$310,000 – $390,000+

A premier global law firm is seeking an Environmental Litigation & Mass Tort Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing Fortune 500 companies, manufacturers, energy companies, chemical companies, and other major businesses in sophisticated environmental litigation, toxic tort, regulatory enforcement, and mass tort matters.

Ideal Background

3–6 years of environmental litigation, mass tort, toxic tort, product liability, or complex commercial litigation experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing clients in environmental enforcement actions, toxic tort litigation, CERCLA matters, natural resource damage claims, and other complex environmental disputes

• Experience handling mass tort litigation, multidistrict litigation (MDLs), class actions, and high-exposure commercial litigation is preferred

• Experience managing all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, depositions, expert discovery, hearings, trial preparation, and appeals

• Experience advising clients regarding environmental compliance, regulatory investigations, and enforcement proceedings before federal and state agencies is a plus

• Experience representing manufacturers, energy companies, chemical companies, industrial businesses, developers, or other corporate clients

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
