Job Description


The Environmental, Logistics & Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating environmental compliance, material freight logistics, and safety initiatives to support efficient field operations. This position ensures compliance with environmental regulations, company safety policies, and client requirements while coordinating the movement of materials to project sites. The Coordinator works closely with project managers, superintendents, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to maintain safe, compliant, and productive operations.


Responsibilities


+ Environmental Compliance: Coordinate environmental compliance, permits, inspections, spill response, records, waste management, erosion/stormwater controls, and environmental training and work closely with the permit compliance department.

+ Logistics Coordination: Coordinate freight, materials, inventory.

+ Safety Coordination: Promote safety culture, conduct inspections, orientations, assist with OSHA documentation, assist with JHAs/AHAs, investigate incidents, monitor corrective actions, ensure PPE compliance, coordinate emergency response, and support DOT/MSHA/USACE/Coast Guard/client compliance.

+ Immediately report all Incidents, regardless of how small, to the Supervisor.

+ Assist with incident investigations as required.

+ Conduct job site safety audits.

+ Provide ongoing field presence for face-to-face communication and promoting HSE expectations.

+ Interface with management and clients regarding HSE issues and concerns.

+ Maintain high level of confidentiality when necessary.

+ Respond to emergency situations and administer basic first-aid as required.

+ This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

+ Other duties that are pertinent to the project’s success may also be assigned.


Qualifications


+ Associate degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.

+ Minimum ten (10) years relevant professional experience.

+ Knowledge of OSHA & MSHA, USCG and environmental regulations.

+ Strong organizational, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.

+ OSHA 30-hour & MSHA 24-hour certifications preferred.

+ Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
