Duties & Responsibilities
Assists with environmental activities at an industrial complex focused on innovative sustainable businesses, to assure compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements for all Marquis facilities, including the nation's largest dry-mill ethanol plant, combined heat and power plant, marine terminal, bottling plant, aggregate processing and concrete plant, and carbon capture and sequestration facility.
Assists the Regulatory Director with the preparation and submittal of environmental permit applications/renewals at the Hennepin industrial complex, as required on a project-by-project basis. Participate in follow-up communication and supplemental information requests as dictated during application review.
Participate in environmental audits and inspections by governing agencies regarding permit and regulatory requirements.
Oversee implementation of facility plans as required by various regulations and permits.
Review and recommend improvements to existing environmental strategies.
Assist with the investigation of environmental incidents and development of action plans.
Oversee the execution of compliance recordkeeping.
Manage and oversee Environmental Coordinators reporting to the position, including providing training, overseeing workload, reviewing data compiled for reporting and permitting.
Provide support with responses to information requests, violation notice responses, and interaction with Agencies.
Assist with oversight of emissions testing.
Assist with the preparation, review, and submittal of reports drafted by the Environmental Coordinators.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, or equivalent experience. 5-10 years in the environmental field preferred.
History of performance in environmental functions with strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate familiarity with fundamental environmental concepts.
Ability to simultaneously handle a variety of environmental tasks and assignments.
Physical Requirements
Work is normally performed in an indoor office environment on-site in Hennepin IL.
Occasionally, work may be performed outdoors and/or within the industrial complex.
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, visually observe, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, and hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Benefits & Compensation
The starting wage for this position is $100,000 annually, with potential adjustments based on skills, experience and qualifications.
