Job Title: Environmental Manger 

Location: Multiple locations Available

Position Overview: The Environmental Manager leads the organization's environmental compliance programs and provides leadership for environmental professionals supporting multiple facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while reducing reliance on external consultants through development of internal technical expertise.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Environmental team members while providing technical guidance across air quality, water, waste management, emergency response, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Interpret, monitor, and communicate applicable Environmental regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices.
  • Manage permitting and reporting activities for air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous and solid waste, and emergency response programs.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of environmental submissions including TRI, Tier II, Emissions Inventory, Title V/State Air Permit reports, Hazardous Waste, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Wastewater, Dredge Program, and other required regulatory filings.
  • Analyze sustainability initiatives by evaluating opportunities to reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and lower operating costs.
  • Conduct environmental inspections, compliance audits, and trend analyses to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure environmental requirements are incorporated into business processes.
  • Support Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) initiatives and lead improvement efforts.
  • Mentor team members and promote proactive compliance throughout the organization.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of environmental technical experience in consulting, manufacturing, shipbuilding, heavy industry, regulatory or  similar setting.
  • Prior leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), environmental permitting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with environmental management systems and regulatory agencies.
  • Prior experience in air permitting and regulatory reporting across medias.
