    Environmental Monitoring Technician (Contract)
    Location: Hillsboro, OR (Onsite)
    Advance Your Career in Cell & Gene Therapy Manufacturing
    We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Monitoring Technician to support clinical manufacturing operations within a cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) environment. In this contract position, you will play a critical role in maintaining controlled manufacturing spaces, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the production of innovative therapies that can improve patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities Environmental Monitoring & Sampling
    • Perform viable environmental monitoring, including air and surface sampling.
    • Conduct non-viable particulate monitoring in classified manufacturing areas.
    • Execute critical utility monitoring activities in both cleanroom and non-classified environments.
    • Collect, document, and manage environmental samples according to established procedures.
    Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal quality requirements.
    • Accurately complete documentation and maintain compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure environmental monitoring activities support validated manufacturing operations.
    Data Management & Reporting
    • Utilize a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for scheduling, sample tracking, data entry, and result reporting.
    • Maintain accurate records and support data review processes.
    Investigation & Excursion Support
    • Assist in responding to environmental monitoring excursions and out-of-specification events.
    • Support investigations by gathering relevant data and documentation.
    • Participate in operational restart activities when required.
    Laboratory & Operational Support
    • Prepare disinfectants and reagents for routine laboratory use.
    • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and basic upkeep of environmental monitoring equipment.
    • Verify equipment calibration status prior to use.
    • Manage laboratory and cleanroom consumables and maintain adequate inventory levels.
    • Stock supplies and support general laboratory organization.
    Safety & Cleanroom Operations
    • Follow all gowning, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and cleanroom requirements.
    • Maintain safe work practices within regulated manufacturing and laboratory environments.
    Qualifications Required
    • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline OR
    • Previous experience performing environmental monitoring in a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.
    Preferred
    • Basic understanding of cGMP regulations and aseptic processing practices.
    • Experience working in cleanroom, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environments.
    • Familiarity with laboratory systems such as LIMS.

    • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods.
    • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and twisting.
    • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
    Schedule Flexibility
    This role supports clinical manufacturing operations and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and other hours as needed to meet production schedules.
