Broadstaff is recruiting on behalf of a premier broadband engineering and consulting organization.

Are you an Environmental Permitting professional with experience navigating Section 106 reviews, environmental compliance, and agency coordination? Do you enjoy supporting infrastructure projects that improve connectivity and expand broadband access across the country?

We are seeking an Environmental Permit Specialist II to join a growing team focused on broadband deployment and telecommunications infrastructure projects. This is a fully remote opportunity offering the chance to work on high-impact projects that support digital inclusion and rural broadband expansion. 
What You'll Do

• Conduct environmental reviews and identify permitting requirements for broadband infrastructure projects. 
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to obtain necessary environmental approvals and clearances. 
• Prepare and submit Section 106 and cultural resource documentation.
• Support compliance efforts for federally funded broadband and telecommunications programs.
• Coordinate environmental and archaeological surveys with third-party consultants. 
• Assist with environmental permitting strategies, project schedules, and client deliverables.
• Draft reports, agency correspondence, and environmental compliance documentation. 

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Archaeology, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of archaeology coursework and field experience. 
• 5+ years of environmental permitting experience. 
• Experience with Section 106 reviews and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requirements. 
• Strong project management and organizational skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Preferred

• Experience working with agencies such as:
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
  • U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS)
  • U.S. Forest Service (USFS)
  • Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
  • Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) 
• Broadband, telecommunications, utility, transportation, or infrastructure project experience.
• GIS software experience including ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Google Earth, and related tools.

Compensation
Target Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 annually

Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and industry expertise.
