Your Impact:

As an Environmental Planner based out of one of our southern California offices, you will work with Environmental Planners and Sciensantists performing environmental planning and permitting, for federal, state, and municipal agencies, as well as private clients. You will work both individually and within a team, serving as a key team member who leads and supports others, engages in regular client and team interaction, coordinates and collaborates with multiple client technical leads, and organizes and summarizes technical material for multiple projects simultaneously in support of projects across California. Your work will contribute to realizing safer infrastructure operations, healthier communities, and protection of our world's natural resources. You will help prepare CEQA and NEPA documents, and support permitting and multi-disciplinary technical studies (natural and cultural resources, air quality, noise, hazardous materials, etc.) for transportation, water and wastewater, energy, and other public and private infrastructure projects. This position may also support construction compliance activities by developing mitigation monitoring and/or implementing reporting plans (MMRPs), ensuring environmental commitments are included in contract documents, and/or monitoring construction activities as needed.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, earth sciences, or life sciences or a related field, MA or MS preferred.
  • Two to Eight years experience and demonstrated proficiency preparing CEQA and NEPA analysis and documentation in support of a variety of projects
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations
  • Experience in developing and/or implementing MMRPs and programs, construction compliance procedures, and completing reporting requirements
  • Interact effectively with variety of stakeholders including environmental professionals, engineers, clients, outside agencies, and the public as required.
  • Foster relationships with large project teams, client, and regulatory agency staff
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently develop quality environmental analysis and documents for review by peer or senior quality assurance staff
  • Ability and willingness to manage environmental planning and compliance tasks to support successful management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and lead field efforts in all weather conditions traversing uneven terrain and clearly document field observations
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet accelerated deadlines
  • Ability to perform work in accordance with established health and safety plans, and to make recommendations for amendment to those plans
  • Ability and willingness to promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction to our public and private clients
  • Willingness to complete field visits and in-person client visits no more than 15% of your time
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience managing data-analysis output from GIS
  • Experience using Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Ability and willingness to support business development in your area(s) of strength and interest and working with others to anticipate and pursue work
  • Experience with land entitlement process

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

70,900.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

87,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $70,900.00 to $87,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
