Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead groundwater investigation, remediation, and environmental restoration projects supporting high-profile federal cleanup initiatives in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
This role offers the opportunity to manage complex environmental projects from initial site characterization through remedy implementation while working alongside multidisciplinary technical teams, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in groundwater remediation, environmental investigations, and project management, along with a passion for solving challenging environmental issues and delivering successful project outcomes.
Lead environmental remediation and groundwater restoration projects from planning through execution
Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations
Oversee teams of hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, engineers, and specialty subcontractors
Prepare and review remedial investigation, remedial design, remedial action, and completion reports
Support CERCLA projects through all phases, including site characterization, remedy evaluation, and implementation
Design and evaluate groundwater monitoring networks and remediation systems
Lead Data Quality Objective (DQO) workshops and develop strategies to address data gaps
Coordinate field investigations, groundwater sampling programs, and drilling activities
Interpret hydrogeologic and environmental data to evaluate groundwater conditions, contaminant migration, and site risks
Present project findings and recommendations to clients, regulators, and project stakeholders
Mentor junior technical staff and contribute to team development
Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
5+ years of experience managing environmental investigation, remediation, or groundwater projects
Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
Strong project management, budgeting, and scheduling experience
Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
Experience preparing technical reports and environmental work plans
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
10+ years of groundwater investigation and remediation experience
Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE) environmental cleanup projects
Working knowledge of CERCLA remediation processes
Experience with groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling
Familiarity with earned value management principles
