About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an Environmental Scientist to support environmental consulting projects throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. This individual will play a key role in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), environmental investigations, and remediation projects for commercial, industrial, municipal, and redevelopment clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing environmental due diligence, field investigations, regulatory compliance support, and technical reporting. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth while working on a variety of challenging environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM E1527 standards).
• Perform records reviews, historical research, site reconnaissance, and interviews.
• Identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and prepare comprehensive Phase I reports.
• Develop scopes of work and recommendations for Phase II investigations.
• Conduct soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and sediment sampling activities.
• Coordinate and oversee drilling subcontractors and environmental field personnel.
• Log soil borings and monitor well installations.
• Review and interpret analytical data to evaluate environmental conditions.
• Support remediation and corrective action projects under WDNR regulations.
• Assist with Brownfield redevelopment projects and environmental permitting.
• Prepare regulatory reports, work plans, and technical memorandums.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and budgets.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and project teams.
• Participate in client meetings and project planning efforts.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor"s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related field.
• 3+ years of environmental consulting experience.
• Hands-on experience conducting both Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Experience with soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
• Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin environmental regulations and due diligence standards.
• Valid driver"s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Preferred

• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Experience with WDNR remediation programs.
• Brownfield redevelopment experience.
• Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint inspection experience.
• GIS, AutoCAD, or environmental database experience.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or ability to pursue licensure.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Franklin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
