Work Environment
The environmental scientist works primarily on active construction job sites around the Twin Cities, often at K-12 schools undergoing remodeling or additions. The role involves close interaction with construction companies and project managers and requires regular presence on job sites rather than in an office. Once training is complete, the individual will perform most testing independently on site, with occasional collaboration on larger projects where another environmental professional may be present. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the possibility of overtime when project schedules require extended hours. Some overnight work and travel may be required, though it is not guaranteed; when travel occurs, travel time is paid and work-related expenses, including meals, are covered. The position involves working in active construction environments, requiring adherence to site safety rules and appropriate attire and personal protective equipment consistent with construction and environmental fieldwork.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
