Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth, Texas (TX) office is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 5+ years of experience to join their Environmental team! This is not a remote position.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team on a variety of multidisciplinary projects (commercial development, renewable energy, power delivery, roadway, utilities, planning, etc.)
Our team is responsible for multiple levels of environmental due diligence and permitting, and this role will be a leader on these projects with opportunities to interface directly with clients and other stakeholders
You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry-leading professionals, internal partners, agencies, various jurisdictions and contractors.

Responsibilities:
Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Natural Resources Due Diligence and Permitting and/or National Environmental Policy Act compliance
Some travel may be required (approximately 10-20%) for site visits, client meetings and/or professional development opportunites.

Qualifications:
5+ years relevant experience, including field work, data collection, and preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Environmental Science, Geology, Biology or related majors
Professional Geoscientist/Geologist (P.G.) not required, but a plus
Comprehensive knowledge of Texas state (i.e., TCEQ) permitting and regulations
Ability to assess sites for Business Environmental Risks (BERs) and Recognized Environmental Conditions (REC), and provide technical and practical guidance and solutions to clients and stakeholders
Strong technical writing skills and experience writing detailed technical reports
Desire to lead day-to-day training and mentorship of staff in your area of expertise
Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS
Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field
Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Desire to learn new skills, markets and project types
Strong technical and organizational skills
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
