    Ardaman has the following opportunity available:

    ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

    Ardaman is seeking a staff-level Environmental Scientist for its Sarasota, Florida office. This position involves a combination of office and field work in support of environmental investigation, assessment, monitoring, and remediation activities. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a strong work ethic, are essential.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Perform Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.

    • Conduct tank closure assessments.

    • Complete site contamination assessments.

    • Support source removals.

    • Assist with remedial system design, operation, and maintenance.

    • Conduct asbestos surveys.

    • Perform chemical grout monitoring.

    • Supervise environmental and geotechnical drilling activities.

    • Prepare technical reports and supporting documentation.

    • Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and field staff.

    • Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.

    • Use GIS and related software tools to accurately map test locations and contamination extents.

    • Travel to local and regional project sites, as needed.

    • Follow company safety procedures and participate in health and safety planning for field activities.

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support project and office operations.

    • Operate a company vehicle in accordance with company policy and applicable law.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a science discipline such as geology, environmental science, earth science, engineering, or physical science.

    • Ability to achieve Professional Engineer or Geoligist licensure within 2 years.

    • Excellent technical writing skills.

    • Strong computer skills and ability to operate electronic instruments.

    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to concentration, density, and gas laws.

    • Knowledge of GIS and software tools used for mapping and contamination assessment.

    • Ability to support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.

    • Ability to work weekends and extended hours, as needed.

    • Ability to travel and work at remote sites, as needed.

    • Strong work ethic.

    • Team-oriented mindset.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Florida Rules 62-761 and 62-785.

    • Certified Asbestos Inspector, or ability to become certified.

    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.

    • Must be able to walk over slopes and uneven terrain.

    • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat.

    • Must be able to work weekends and extended hours, as needed.

    • Must be able to travel to and work at remote project sites, as needed.

    • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, boots, and respiratory protection, as required.

    • Must be able to climb ladders, enter confined or awkward spaces when required and approved, and perform physically demanding field tasks.

    • Must be able to operate a company vehicle to travel to project sites.

    Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

    • Combination of field (80%) and office (20%) work.

    • Outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions, including heat.

    • Work at remote job sites may be required.

    • May involve exposure to environmental and geotechnical field conditions.
