Under general administrative direction, plans,direct, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the Environmental Services department, including staff management, building and safety, environmental compliance, advanced planning, special projects, and administrative support programs; coordinates assigned activities with other departments.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Annually reviews and updates Environmental Service-related policies and procedures, ensuring they conform to current standards of practice and maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local laws and regulations; AII modifications must be submitted to Administrator for approval
  • Communicates, interprets, and trains the company's policies and procedures to Environmental Service staff and monitors staff practices and implementation.
  • Set and monitor tor achievement of goals and objectives for the Environmental Service Departments

  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training and in-services; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and terminations

  • Direct and participate in developing and administrating the department budget; maintains records of supply usage and records of cost

  • Reviews all environmental service complaints, incident reports, and follow-up reports and submits them to the administrator

  • Maintain accurate inventory of all supplies and equipment; maintain safety data sheets on all cleaning/laundry products

  • Assist in deliveries of supplies or equipment.

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the Environmental Services department's work objectives; assign projects and programmatic areas of responsibility.

  • Prepares periodic reports regarding the Environmental Service department's operational effectiveness and performance.

  • Coordinates and/or develops ongoing quality assurance activities for Environmental Services to monitor compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.


  • Compiles summary findings of Infection Control, Safety, and Quality Control committees

  • Holds,atminimum,quarterlymeetingswithdirectstaffto discussdepartment updates, personnel, and complaints/


  • Participates in preparing the Plan of Correction response to an inspection sImplements any follow-up Q & A required for any Environmental Service-related allegations.

  • Promotes compliance with accident prevention procedures, safety rules, and safe work

  • Participates in a company new hire orientation monthly or more as needed.


  • Promotes customer service and hospitality by responding to and adequately resolving complaints or concerns about environmental

  • Chair the Safety Committee and serve on other committees as necessary


  • Perform duties of Housekeeper, Custodian, or Laundry in emergencies, and other duties as

QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma required; college
  • OSHA 10 Needed or the willingness to obtain one with in 60 days of hire
  • Sound working knowledge of housekeeping and laundry
  • Excellent oral and written skills are
  • union management experience
  • computer literate/ familiar with outlook, teams, and other common applications
  • Two years of supervisory experience, preferably in a hospital, nursing home, or hotel
