Job Summary

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall appearance of a hospital or healthcare facility. This role focuses exclusively on environmental services and does not involve direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Floor Maintenance - Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.

Surface Cleaning - Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, equipment, and woodwork.

Deep Cleaning - Wash walls, ceilings, windows, sills, blinds, and door panels.

Waste Management - Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.

Restroom Sanitation - Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; restock supplies.

Outdoor/Perimeter Upkeep - Pick up debris around the building.

Equipment Operation - Operate high‑ and low‑speed stripping and buffing machines.

Event Setup - Arrange tables, chairs, and equipment for hospital events and daily activities.

Maintenance Reporting - Identify and report facility maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to work independently but also be a team player. - Good communication and comprehension skills.
