The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for an Environmental Services Lead position at the Goose Creek Correctional Center (GCCC) located in Mackenzie Point, Alaska.

What you will be doing:
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary physical environment for State facilities and institutions at a fully proficient level. Lead and supervise the work of four environmental service employees. Duties include but are not limited to; working outdoors to maintain clean and safe entrances; using discretion and judgment in regard to attainment of standards, selecting appropriate tools, methods, or materials; and training, directing, and reviewing the work of inmate helpers.

The working environment you can expect:
Goose Creek Correctional Center is a minimum/medium custody facility that houses up to 1500 inmates. You will be working closely around inmates and other staff on a daily basis. Positive and fast paced work environment that provides opportunity for professional development and interactions with multi-disciplines within the institution. Work is performed in 24-hour facilities. Environmental Services Lead typically work a regular 40 hours a week, 5 days a week. Our cohesive team supports a positive work environment and encourages input from all team members.

We are looking for someone with basic knowledge of:- Techniques and methods for cleaning a variety of fabrics and providing laundry services.
- General cleaning of building interiors.
- Use of cleaning agents, disinfectants and solvents.
- Personal hygiene, general sanitation and safe work standards.
- Record keeping systems, forms and procedures.
