Job Announcement

The City of Chandler Management Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Environmental Services Manager. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. An alternative work schedule of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM may also be available.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are

The Environmental Management Division consists of 5 positions and provides environmental (air, water, storm water and waste) compliance guidance and oversight to City operations and facilities. This includes management of the City's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Permit, review environmental due diligence for property acquisitions, maintain central environmental compliance files, and manage clean-up activities when environmental spills occur on City property and report to the proper regulatory agency.

Who we are looking for

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking someone to manage environmental services staff and resources, provides advice and guidance to City management, serves as the liaison to environmental regulatory agencies, maintains the Citys central compliance records and manages all aspects of environmental incidents from clean-up to reporting.

Minimum qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field; and
  • 5 years of experience with regulatory compliance activities, including 2 years of supervisory experience in a municipality; and
  • A valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
