Description Performs a variety of routine and major professional cleaning duties in public and private spaces of the university. Responds to urgent cleaning needs as a result of spills or accidents. Adheres to established schedule to maintain cleanliness standards. Uses professional cleaning products equipment and techniques. Interacts with customers visitors students coworkers and others in a friendly helpful and professional manner. Assists other team members with daily work and special projects. Uses assigned communication device. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE · Performs a variety of routine and major professional cleaning duties in public and private spaces of the university. Responds to urgent cleaning needs as a result of spills or accidents. Adheres to established schedule to maintain cleanliness standards. · Completes tasks independently using professional cleaning techniques. Actively participates in ongoing training to maintain professional cleaning skills. · Empties cleans and replaces liners in waste containers daily. Coordinates removal of recycling and large waste and debris items. · Regularly inspects and refills supply of paper soap and other products throughout the shift to ensure supplies are available at all times. · Maintains carpeted areas through daily vacuuming and spot treatment of stains. Maintains hard flooring and stair treads through daily sweeping wet andor dry mopping. · Inspects and actively maintains cleanliness of high-traffic areas such as restrooms breakrooms and lobby areas throughout shift. Actively maintains cleanliness of door handles water fountains light switches elevator buttons and similar high-contact surfaces. · Dusts cleans and disinfects a variety of surfaces to include furniture walls doors glass windows counters lab and bathroom fixtures. · Properly uses stores and maintains adequate supply of equipment and cleaning products. Uses resources in a safe cost-effective manner. · Uses assigned communication device to read and respond to texts emails and service requests. Interacts with customers visitors students coworkers and others in a friendly helpful and professional manner. KnowledgeSkillsAbilities · Ability to read and write and be able to comprehend written and oral instruction · Ability to use personal computer cell phone tablet or other device with limited training · Ability to utilize email programs and applications necessary to perform job duties with limited training · Ability to work independently · Ability to work as part of a team · Interpersonal skills · Organizational skills · Prioritization skills Experience Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
