Job Description

Parks, Recreation and Tourism (PRT) is seeking a dependable individual with custodial experience and a strong commitment to customer service and quality work.

This position is responsible for maintaining City buildings, facilities, and recreational areas through routine and specialized custodial services.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service in support of the City's Customer Service Initiative.
  • Clean offices, restrooms, kitchens, cabins, outdoor facilities, and other assigned areas.
  • Perform floor care, including vacuuming, mopping, stripping, and waxing.
  • Restock supplies, replace light bulbs, and properly mix and use cleaning chemicals.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables; maintain outdoor areas and parking lots.
  • Operate commercial custodial equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning, and sanitizing as needed.
  • Set up facilities for special events and work flexible schedules as required.
  • Report safety hazards and equipment issues promptly.
  • Work during City emergencies when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Requires instruction that is sufficient for satisfactory job performance.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

None.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in housekeeping and/or custodial services.

Knowledge of APPA, custodial standard of operations and principle guidelines.

Quality customer service and communication skills.
