Job Summary

This position is responsible for the environmental services maintenance of campus buildings and facilities. An incumbent in this position may be designated "Lead Environmental Services Technician"

Responsibilities

Environmental Services Duties (100%) - Assists in coordinating day-to-day work assignment and assist in ensuring compliance with environmental services policies, procedures, and safe work practices

Cleans, sanitizes, and details restrooms; refills dispensers; stocks supplies

Dusts and wipes furniture and fixtures

Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors

Empties and cleans trash receptacles

Cleans classrooms and laboratories

Loads and unloads supplies; stocks and organizes storage areas

Cleans spills and broken glass

Moves furniture

Assist with setting up for special events

Performs Environmental Services-related projects such as summer turns, stripping and rewaxing floors, cleaning carpet, etc.

Reports maintenance needs to supervisor

Ability to drive college-owned vehicles and golf/utility carts on campus to transport equipment, materials, and supplies. Performs related duties.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Other Required Qualifications Currently hold a valid drivers license issued by the State of Georgia - Class C.

May be required to work after hours, weekends, and be on-call.  All employees must pass a background check and motor vehicle report.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in the environmental services maintenance of public buildings.

Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of a variety of environmental services equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of environmental services operations principles and practices.

Skill in the operation of environmental services equipment.

Skill in decision making and problem solving.

Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

Skill in oral and written communication.
