Environmental Services Technician ( Janitorial)

Our next FT Environmental Services Technician will be responsible for overseeing the overall sanitation process at our Hagerstown facility. Maintaining the facility, handling any upkeep/cleaning requests and assisting with other processes that pertain to the overall sanitation of the facility.

To be blunt, this role will be about:

• Empties waste baskets and removes trash.
• Sweeps and mops all floors.
• Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture & fixtures.
• Cleans rest rooms, toilets, sinks.
• Distributes building cleaning supplies, equipment and materials to all Departments.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and in good condition.

$18 - $18 an hour

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• This position may require the ability to perform essential functions that include, but are not limited to: Pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time. Using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel, and pick objects (manual dexterity).

• Working with chemicals (e.g., butane, propane, bleach) while following strict safety guidelines.

• Cleaning and maintaining the facility or equipment using approved chemicals.

• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including clothing protection, close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear and eye protection.
