Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute is a physician-owned, orthopedic hospital, serving the Kansas City area for over 25 years. KCOI has 17 Inpatient beds, along with 8 state-of-the-art operating rooms. KCOI is conveniently located near I-435 & State Line Road in Leawood, KS.

We’re seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician for our Inpatient Unit. Healthcare experience is a plus, but willing to train a motivated individual with an eye for detail and a commitment to service excellence. Teamwork, effective communication skills, and great attendance are essential. The position is fulltime, 40 hours per week. Weekend availability is a must, and days off will vary. Rotating holidays. Schedule is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. Paid time off begins accruing immediately with hours worked. Pay is bi-weekly.

Job Function:

Environmental Services Technicians perform daily cleaning of the nursing unit and 17 private patient rooms, including discharged room cleaning. Cleaning in other hospital departments may be assigned when needed, including cleaning operating rooms between surgical cases, and common areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-5 years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and to follow written instructions.
  • Must be able to stand throughout the shift; push cleaning and trash carts; lift soiled linen bags and trash; and bend when needed to clean underneath objects.
