Purpose
Deliver a consistently safe, sanitary, and orderly environment across our facilities by executing high-quality cleaning, event support, and basic maintenance tasks.
Scope of Work
- Floor care: sweep, mop, and scrub interior/exterior surfaces; use industrial machines to scrub, strip, wax, and polish hard floors.
- Carpet care: vacuum throughout offices, classrooms, halls, and public areas; perform extraction shampooing as needed.
- Surface care: dust and clean furnishings, exhibit cases, frames, trim, and whiteboards with recommended products.
- Restroom hygiene: clean, disinfect, and service lavatories, restrooms, showers, and locker rooms.
- Glass and entryways: wash sills; clean interior/exterior windows, corridor and entrance doors, and vestibules.
- High/overhead cleaning: walls, blinds, curtains, ceiling lights, and HVAC fixtures; safe ladder use required.
- Event logistics: move, assemble, and arrange furniture; set up and tear down for meetings and events.
- Ground-level upkeep: maintain exterior entrances and nearby areas to keep approaches clean and inviting.
- Waste handling: collect refuse, replace liners, and move waste to designated disposal areas.
- Equipment care: maintain and adjust vacuums, scrubbers, and carpet machines for optimal performance.
- Facilities reporting: document and submit repair needs using the approved work order system.
- Basic plumbing support: attempt to clear clogs in toilets, sinks, bathtubs, and showers.
- Preventive treatments: apply drain conditioners and odor control solutions on a defined schedule.
- Seasonal response: remove snow and apply anti-skid materials on steps and walkways.
- Logistics support: receive and unload deliveries.
- Safety & compliance: follow safety procedures and report accidents or hazards immediately; adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: two years’ experience in an applied trade.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written work orders.
- Self-directed with the ability to work without close supervision; strong team contributor.
- Comfort working in varied weather and occasionally unpleasant environments.
- Able to manage spills involving body fluids and chemicals safely.
- Physical requirements: frequent bending/stooping, ladder climbing, prolonged standing; lift up to 50 lbs.
Special Requirement
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
