ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE

  • Vacuums, spot clean, disinfect and clean all areas of the hospital.
  • Collects and transports trash, cleans and relines trash containers with plastic bags.
  • Cleans and sanitizes tops of windows, door frames and other high places.
  • Clean and sanitize induction units, light fixtures, etc.
  • Washes and sanitizes sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replaces disposables such as paper towels, soap and toilet paper.
  • Dusts, cleans, sanitizes and polishes furniture including beds.
  • Completes all cleaning and preparation of patient rooms for new occupants or concurrent cleaning and sanitizing procedures for rooms with patients.
  • Spot clean walls, windows, doors, ceilings between scheduled washings, wash and sanitize as scheduled.
  • Keeps walks and entryways free of snow and debris.
  • Adheres to hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, safe, environmental, infection control and Quality assurance program.
  • Maintain all required records, reports, statistics etc.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attend meetings as required.
  • Follow all Hospital safety standards and participate in Safety training.
  • Responsible for communicating and applying Compliance Program standards, procedures and goals.
  • Actively participate in team oriented decision-making process. Is a team player, willing to be flexible and open to other’s ideas.
  • Performs other duties as directed by a proper authority as indicated in an approved Hospital policy

Weekly Hours: 4:30pm-11pm; 3 days/week    Weekend Rotation: Work every fifth weekend.    May be more frequent depending on staffing levels.   Rotating Holidays.
